What is FreedomVoice?

Founded in 1996, FreedomVoice is a virtual phone system designed for small businesses which was then acquired by GoDaddy in 2016. FreedomVoice offers 2 services: Virtual System and Cloud-hosted VoIP system. The former is designed for businesses that work remotely and need to be in touch with their employees at all times. While the latter is again available in 2 options: the first being for extremely small businesses and the other for organizations of any size. Both of these services run on a high-speed internet connection and IP phones. There is no software to install or 3rd party equipment to configure – they are a cloud-based phone system. Services such as after work hour calls, call routing, call forwarding, voicemail, call blocking, online fax, etc are provided by this cloud-based phone system.

A complete guide

You need a more complete solution

Even though FreedomVoice does offer a good way to start receiving business calls, it can become very limiting quite quickly due to the lack of features, especially in the first two packages. For example, call recording, holding music, CRM integration, and many other features are not available in these packages, which will not allow small businesses to treat their calls as efficiently or professionally. Before selecting FreedomVoice, you should check other more complete solutions on the market.

Pros

FreedomVoice offers an easy way to start receiving business calls.

Cons

FreedomVoice has little to offer a small business due to its lack of features.

You need more affordable pricing

Unfortunately, FreedomVoice offers a very limited amount of minutes with two of their plans. They provide 400 minutes in one, and 1200 minutes in the other. Additional minutes are 3.9 cents per minute, which can add up quickly. If you want unlimited calls, you need to buy their “Max” plan at $29.95 per month. In this package, you will receive more advanced features that will allow you to create an IVR or to supervise calls.

Pros

FreedomVoice can meet a company’s needs for low calling volumes.

Cons

Paying for additional minutes can become costly.

You need something easy to use and set up

Business communication has a history of being complicated. It is important to choose a modern solution that is easy to start and simply to use. You should be able to set up a cloud phone system in 3 to 5 minutes and a more advanced contact center solution within 15 minutes. If this is not the case with FreedomVoice, it would be best to look for another provider so you don’t waste time in complex implementation.
