Background noise on my USB microphone-headset

On certain laptops, background noise occurs when speaking into a headset connected by USB. This problem will not only occur with RingOver, but with all other apps on the laptop.

This does not, in fact, involve a problem with drivers or setup, but rather with electronic signals.

To eliminate background noise, simply connect your laptop to a grounded power supply.
